BROOKS, CA – Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation is conducting work along Hwy. 16 in Brooks to upgrade utility operations across its business, residential, government and agricultural properties. These include the Cache Creek Casino Resort, Séka Hills Olive Mill & Tasting Room and government offices.
The construction visible along Hwy. 16 is the infrastructure work needed to interconnect systems across Yocha Dehe properties, enabling the delivery of additional basic services, improving efficiency and increasing opportunities for new agricultural production.
The project will improve water and natural gas delivery, enhance wastewater (and sewage) treatment, extend broadband services, interconnect the Tribe’s power grid and back-up systems and allow for more effective use of Cache Creek water, including to irrigate farmland that is currently dry farmed or not able to be farmed at all.
Work is expected to be complete by June 30, 2020.
