Welcome
We Are The
Yocha Dehe
Wintun Nation
Since time immemorial, our people have lived on lands today known as Yolo, Solano, Colusa, Lake and Napa Counties. Centered in Yolo County’s Capay Valley, our Northern California homeland is at the heart of our culture and heritage.

Patwin Territory
For us, success is defined not only by thriving communities and prosperous enterprises, but also by the restoration of our language, the revitalization of our cultural traditions, and the protection of our sacred lands from disturbance and desecration. Patwin territory traditionally encompasses a large area of Northern California, including what are now Yolo, Solano, Colusa, and Lake Counties, as well as parts of Napa County. These ancestral lands have shaped our identity for generations and remain central to our way of life. Today, three federally recognized Patwin tribes—the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, the Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation, and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation—continue to care for and protect this land, honoring the deep and enduring connection between our people and our homeland.
Patwin Territory
For us the meaning of success is not just a thriving community and prosperous enterprises; it is also the recover and revitalization of our language and traditions, as well as the protection of cultural and burial sites from disturbance and desecration. The mission of Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Cultural Resources Department is to identify, preserve and protect Patwin language, culture and sacred sites.
