Access to quality education is critical to personal advancement and the escape from poverty and other difficult circumstances. The Yocha Dehe Community Fund supports organizations that improve the quality of learning and community access to education.
Education is necessary for tribal development and health. Securing education for succeeding generations of our people is of paramount importance. Giving will be directed toward programs benefitting children of the Tribe to prepare for the future needs of the Tribe. This may include curriculum and academic support for the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy, as well as college and vocational programs, such as scholarships or support of academic programs of benefit to the Tribe and other Native peoples.
We will continue to support education in the broader community where there can be significant, measurable impact.
In the past, the Yocha Dehe Community Fund has supported technology in local schools, after-school and special programs, unfunded school programs and other gifts to schools with more than 50% Title I children.
