FAIRFIELD — The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, with funding from Doyuti T’uhkama, has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Solano Community Foundation to help modernize its systems and expand nonprofits support in the county.

“For generations, Yocha Dehe has believed that strong communities are built through shared responsibility, respect, and long-term stewardship,” tribal Chairman Anthony Roberts said in a statement.

“Through our partnership, we have seen the Solano Community Foundation’s ability to steward resources responsibly, convene community partners, and support nonprofits delivering meaningful impact across our Patwin ancestral lands. By investing in the foundation, we are helping strengthen the nonprofit sector and, in turn, the families and neighborhoods that make our communities thrive,” Roberts added.

The funds will support the modernization of legacy infrastructure, expanded nonprofit capacity-building efforts, and improved access to local philanthropy – helping ensure that resources can be stewarded effectively and equitably for years to come.

“The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation’s leadership reflects a deep commitment to  strengthening families, supporting community resilience and creating lasting impact for future generations,” Leslie A. Janik, chief executive officer of Solano Community  Foundation, said in the statement. “We are honored by this partnership and grateful for  the trust placed in us at this pivotal moment.”
