The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation decries all hate crime in the strongest possible terms. We note with sorrow a rise in racial violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans in California, and around the Country. It is heartbreaking that this violence is so often aimed at the elders of those communities. This wrongheaded reaction to COVID-19 has no place in our society. Racism is a sickness in its own right. We have suffered from its effects and we remain committed to pursuing its cure.
Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation is an independent, self-governed nation that supports our people and the Capay Valley, CA community by strengthening our culture, stewarding our land and creating economic independence for future generations.
