BROOKS, CA (May 11, 2017) The Yocha Dehe Community Fund saluted the achievements of its local partners at its ninth annual Partners in Philanthropy Luncheon at the Yocha Dehe Community Center in Brooks. 
Certificates of Recognition, commending ongoing excellence in service, were presented to:
- Cristo Rey High School. Cristo Rey delivers an effective and rigorous high school curriculum that shapes under served students into faith filled, educated, professional, and service oriented adults.
- Special Olympics Northern California. Special Olympics offers general and special education students the ability to participate athletically on the same playing field, encouraging good health and promoting acceptance and respect for all.
The Tahtimihn Award was presented to:
- Sacramento Loaves & Fishes. Founded in 1963, Loaves & Fishes serves as many as 800 homeless people daily, offering food, shelter, medical assistance, social services, advocacy, veterinary care, job training, an accredited children’s school, and more.
The Community Fund is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of tribal citizens and supported by government staff. The fund uses philanthropy to enhance the quality of life for Yolo County residents and Native American people, focusing on six funding priorities: Education, Helping People Help Themselves, Native Arts and Culture, Native Health and Wellness, Native Rights and Tribal Sovereignty, and Steward the Natural Environment.
Since 2000, the Community Fund has provided grants totaling more than $30 million to more than 370 diverse organizations.
