Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Pays Tribute to its Community Fund Partners.
The Yocha Dehe Community Fund and its partners gathered on May 21, 2014 in Brooks for the sixth annual Partners in Philanthropy Luncheon to celebrate their work building stronger communities.
Partnership Awards were presented to the International Indian Treaty Council for its advocacy for the rights of indigenous communities and to Ark Preschool for its services for children and families in crisis.
This year’s Tahtimihn “Star” Award was presented to the Woodland Community College Foster and Kinship Care Education program for its work with foster and kinship care providers.
John EchoHawk, founder of the Native American Rights Fund (NARF), a Community Fund partner, delivered the keynote address.
In 2013, Yocha Dehe Community Fund awarded nearly three million dollars in grants to 67 organizations working in areas including the arts, health care, environment, community development, and native language revitalization.
