The Thanksgiving meal distribution is one of two holiday food distributions hosted annually by Yolo Food Bank (YFB). With generous support from Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, YFB distributed 1,275 holiday meals in November 2012. This year, YFB will give away a total of 1,500 meals for the 2013 Thanksgiving holiday.
Yolo County households in need of food assistance for the holidays will receive one turkey, an assortment of fresh produce, and a variety of non-perishable goods.
In an effort to reach all areas of Yolo County, the Food Bank will distribute food from Woodland and partner with several regional organizations including: RISE, Inc. (Esparto and Winters), Pole Line Baptist Church (Davis), and Children’s Alliance (West Sacramento). YFB will also distribute food through its network of non-profit partner agencies located throughout the County.
