Anthony Roberts, Tribal Treasurer of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation has been appointed as a Director of the 40th District Agricultural Association, Yolo County Fair Board by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.

“I am honored to be selected by the Governor to serve on the Yolo County Fair Board,” said Treasurer Roberts. “The agriculture industry is critical to the Yolo County economy and we have incredible opportunities to promote our region as a leader in the production of many quality crops including olives. I look forward to working with other leaders of our community to build an even stronger agricultural economy here.”

Fair Board directors oversee all facets of management and operations functions of the Yolo County Fair, its properties and its events.

Roberts is serving his third term as Treasurer of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. He has served on the Tribal Council since 2000 and was first elected Treasurer in 2006. A lifelong resident of Yolo County, Treasurer Roberts, 33, is actively involved in the tribal community, serving as chair of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy Board and as a member of the Health and Wellness Committee, Maintenance and Operations Committee, Community Fund Committee, Cultural Resources Committee and the Fire Commission. He is also a commissioner for the Yocha Dehe Tribal Gaming Agency.

“The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation is committed to doing all we can to support our community,” added Treasurer Roberts. “A strong, prosperous community benefits all Yolo County residents. I look forward to participating as a Director of the Fair Board to advance the interests of our region.”

Treasurer Robert’s appointment by the Governor does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.
