The Tribal Council of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation has decided not to proceed with the currently proposed version of its Destination Resort Project (DRP).
While Cache Creek Casino Resort patronage remains strong, the Tribal Council has conducted a thorough re-examination of the plans for expansion envisioned in its DRP, and has concluded that it is prudent to focus its efforts, investing in existing core business operations. The Tribe, which has been engaged in prolonged and contentious negotiations and arbitration with Yolo County since completing its Tribal Environmental Impact Report last year, has informed Yolo County officials of its decision.
The Tribe continues to pay more than $5 million a year to the county under an intergovernmental agreement for its last expansion, and is the largest private employer in Yolo County.
