Fire Mechanic (Brooks, CA)
Yocha Dehe Fire Department is an agency of the Tribal Council, established for the exclusive purpose of providing fire suppression, technical rescue, hazmat, and EMS emergency response, fire prevention, and emergency preparedness on the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and other response areas pursuant to fire automatic and mutual aid agreements.
Under general supervision of the Deputy Fire Chief, this position is primarily responsible for maintaining operational readiness of all fire department emergency apparatus, tools, and appliances. Secondary duties of this position are to provide maintenance for the fire station in coordination with tribal maintenance services and the casino’s engineering department.
This is the advanced level fire service mechanic position, fully qualified to operate, diagnose for corrective action, and maintain modern fire service emergency response apparatus, tools, and appliances on a regular basis. Incumbent also performs preventive maintenance to help ensure emergency response apparatus, tools, and appliances have a high percentage of response-readiness. Incumbent is also fully qualified to establish and maintain necessary records that accurately document preventive maintenance, required repairs, as well as general condition of apparatus, tools, and appliances.
